Account Manager/Independent Contractor

Our Mission:

Our mission is to bring small businesses and consumers in our school communities together in the marketplace in a way that benefits our schools and brings new customers to our business partners. In other words, we produce publications for the benefit of our schools paid for by small business advertising in the school’s community. Our products include customized school textbook covers, seasonal “Thank You” cards for school staff, and an anthology of student works.

The ideal Account Manager is a highly motivated and independent professional, well disciplined with an overwhelming desire to succeed. (If it is going to be, it is up to me!) Our associates are offered a year round, flexible, permanent position with the financial security of a proven market and the rewards of an above average income potential. During the first year the high performing associate is rewarded for loyalty and exceeding performance standards with an increasing commission, renewal bonuses and leadership opportunities.  After the first six months, the high performing associate may be offered ownership of their own publishing and advertising business with a protected territory.

Management support is crucial to our success. We are constantly on the lookout for top performers who seek advancement within the company. We are result oriented and not time oriented, affording you the opportunity to advance as quickly as you are capable of rather than being tied to any time restrictions or ceilings. Our management associates enjoy a higher compensation through the benefits of production overrides for the sales teams they lead.

Performance Standards:

1. An above normal command of the English language as evidenced in written and verbal communications.
2. Maintain the ability to perform using the Microsoft Office Professional Suite and to deliver graphics via email.
3. The ability to plan and organize work and set realistic sales objectives.
4. Adhere to a professional dress code consistent with the owners, managers and professionals we interact with.
5. The moral quality to always act in the best interest of both the company and our clients when performing services; and, absolute loyalty and confidentiality in regard to information obtained in your business dealings to protect those interests.
6. The ability to memorize a professional presentation and consistency and persistence to continuously deliver professional presentations to business owners, managers and professionals in order to meet sales objectives.
7. The ability to maintain a record of presentations and results.
8. To perform services as required within the assigned territories and in respect of your associates territories.
9. To maintain up-to-date business licenses as required by state and local governments.
10. To pay all taxes incurred as a result of compensation received when and as they are due.
11. To maintain up-to-date accounting of all funds received and disbursed in performance of the contract.
12. To maintain professional communications with the company by all available means to inform of progress and exceptions.
13. To act in good faith and with respect to your associates by a reasonable effort to attend scheduled meetings and trainings.
14. When necessary, to contract only the most ethical business professionals available consistent with these performance standards.

Compensation:

The compensation is a performance based commission plan. During training, a mentor is assigned and on the first Friday of your contract you will receive 15% in cash (receipted) of the value of all paid contracts turned in the Thursday before (provided all paperwork is complete and payments received). Once your mentor determines you are ready to start on your own, you will receive 25% for your personal paid contracts. (It is not unusual for me to sell a $149.00 standard ad contract every ninety minutes or so when training an associate, demonstrating the potential based on work ethic in this business. Many do much better.)

If you consistently perform above the average and are offered a contract as a Team Leader, you will receive a 7% override of your team which means your 25% commission and an additional 7% of all paid contracts from your team. If you succeed to Area Sales Manager, you would receive a 7% override in your Area which means your 32% commission and an additional 5% of all paid contracts from your Area. Perform at the top of your game consistently for 6-months or more and we may reward you with 100% ownership of your own business in a protected territory.
